Maintenance Mechanic
JOB TITLE: SCATTERED SITE MECHANIC /DRIVER
DEPARTMENT: HOUSING PROGRAMS
FLSA: NON - EXEMPT
LOCATION: YONKERS
SALARY: $18 - $21 per hour
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the performance and delivery of quality services to Westhab properties. These services include, general repairs in plumbing, electrical, painting and plastering, as well as changing locks and repairs to appliances. Reports to the Facility Manager. Proof of COVID-19 vaccine is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete work orders assigned by Supervisor.
- Complete apartment turnover repair/upgrade of scattered site units.
- Trouble shoot and make repairs to minor electrical, plumbing issues
- Consult with Scattered Site Supervisor on status of repairs needed for units
- Assist with the preparation of scope-of-work for units
- Prepare daily field reports and communicate to Supervisor of repairs needed.
- Maintain good communication between clients/tenants and staff
- Respond to emergencies and participate with on-call rotation
- Be part of the in-house snow team
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum two years experience as a mechanic; apprentice skills with the ability to perform repairs on doors, plumbing work, and carpentry required. Must have a clean, valid NYS driver’s license. Good verbal and written communication skills required.
